With a project value of US$ 250 million, the eagerly anticipated development of the Fairmont Zimbali Hotel & Resort will consist of an ultra-luxury five-star hotel, a Gary Player signature golf course, an international Willow Stream spa and an exciting bouquet of residential and investment real estate ownership products, including an exclusive Fairmont Heritage Place Private Residence Club.

For the first time in South Africa, Fairmont Zimbali will provide a complete range of real estate ownership opportunities within one hotel development, which will be offered to the South African and international markets. These will include direct investment opportunities in a typical hotel condominium suite, which will be rented by the hotel and provide the owner with a yield as well as usage of the property for a specified time each year. Alternatively, investors will have the opportunity of purchasing an apartment or free-standing villa for their own use, but with the advantage of it being serviced and maintained to an international five-star standard by the Fairmont Hotel, as well as included in the hotel rental administration scheme, which is currently very successful within Zimbali.

IFA Hotels & Resorts is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kuwait’s International Financial Advisors, and is widely recognised as one of the world’s most progressive and innovative international companies engaged in the development of hotel and tourism resort projects throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the Indian Ocean. IFA’s portfolio includes the Sheraton Algarve in Portugal, the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts on the iconic Palm Jumereih off Dubai and the Zanzibar Beach Hotel & Resort in Tanzania.

Appointed to manage the development in Zimbali, is Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, which is North America’s leading and largest owner/operator of luxury hotels and resorts with a worldwide reputation for accommodation excellence. Their managed portfolio consists of 50 luxury first-class properties in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda, Barbados, Europe and the United Arab Emirates. Since as far back as 1884, Fairmont has been welcoming guests to its remarkable collection of hotels and resorts including landmark destinations such as London’s Savoy Hotel.

Located along a pristine stretch of the magnificent Dolphin Coast in KwaZulu-Natal, Zimbali Coastal Resort is Southern Africa’s premier residential and resort estate. Zimbali has established itself as one of Southern Africa’s most desirable investment destinations and offers visitors and residents a sophisticated living environment within a casual coastal setting, surrounded by rare fauna and flora and with access to every modern convenience. Homes in the estate are regarded as some of the finest in the country.

According to James Wilson, Director of IFA South Africa, “IFA fulfilled on its promise, made in 2002, to bring to Zimbali the highest standards in resort management. The appointment of Fairmont now brings Zimbali to a level where it can compete with truly international destinations”.
