We hope that 2006 will be another fantastic year for all SA Express passengers, their families, friends and business associates. During the past year we made all efforts to make your flights more enjoyable by bringing you exciting stories that kept you entertained and informed during and after your flights.
Flying can be a boring exercise especially for frequent flyers. As most passengers know, the more you fly, the more you stand a chance of accurately predicting what you’ll be served for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Some frequent flyers can now even recite the on-board safety message like a pre-school rhyme. What we have tried to achieve through Indwe is always to keep you in suspense as to what the next stories would be about. We intend to keep it that way, keep you in the dark as to the content. I am however tempted to reveal some of the changes that you may expect.
Firstly, we feel that we have a responsibility to keep you entertained by writing the make-you-feel-nice stories. This is our commitment and obligation to the passengers. However, we also feel that we should somehow challenge you to think about how can you as an individual or corporate citizen can make this world a better place for yourself and others. In that regard we will punctuate our usual stories with some articles that will challenge you to think about the state of our world, country, neighbourhoods, and households.
Amongst some of the articles that we intend bringing to you are positive but challenging stories about parenthood, citizens’ responsibilities, exciting corporate social investment programmes by big and small businesses, how marginal communities are using limited resources to make big changes in their lives, and how some of the icons of success in our country contribute to shaping our thoughts. The list of our fantasy stories is too long for me to exhaust. The gist of it all is that we want to bring you an exciting mixture of stories.
As you have done in the past, we invite you to continue to make suggestions about how we can provide the best of entertaining and educational stories. We value your contributions because from each suggestion that you make we strive to make Indwe one of the best, must-read inflight magazines.
Gotcha! We haven’t forgotten that in our October issue we challenged you to “in a small yet big way” make a change in someone else’s life. We invite you to write and tell us what you did, for who, and why do you think that was the right thing to do. Who knows, perhaps there is a surprise trophy to be given away for the best story we receive.
Enjoy the read!
Enjoy the flight!
